A hospice social worker assists patients living with terminal conditions. She arranges for care to enhance the patient’s qualify of life and counsels him and his family as they adjust to the diagnosis. She remains with the patient from beginning to end, easing some of the family’s burden by handling the day-to-day details of the patient and family’s care. Other needs addressed range from helping families communicate with insurance carriers, financial institutions, planning memorial or funeral services, and completing legal documents.

“My previous experience with Hospice has given me a great deal of insight into the profession and I will have to say that I have been very impressed with Emerald Hospice. Richard and his team do an excellent job providing for their patients and families both physically and emotionally. I highly recommend them to our patients and I would use them for my own family members if needed as well. Anyone would be blessed to have this wonderful team provide care for their loved ones during such a difficult time.”
